Audi leading at halfway point

 

The #15 Audi Sport Team Phoenix R8 of Robin Frijns, Christopher Haase and Intercontinental GT Challenge leader Laurens Vanthoor is leading the Motul Sepang 12 Hours at the halfway point. The car took the lead during a rain shower in the fifth hour of the race, when they were one of the first cars to shod rain tyres.

Porsche leading 1-2 after three hours

 

Three hours into the Motul Sepang 12 Hours Porsche is occupying the first two positions, but the top-6 is only separated by half a minute. The main incident of the first quarter of the race were the lenghty repairs on the #9 K-PAX Racing McLaren, after it was hit by suspension damage. The car was 24 minutes in the box, and lost 13 laps.

Shane Van Gisbergen is having a great season, clinching the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and conquering the coveted V8 Supercars title. Now the 27-year old Kiwi is one of the three title candidates for the Intercontinental GT Challenge drivers’ title, and is only six points down on championship leader Laurens Vanthoor.

Fred Makowiecki puts Porsche on pole for Motul Sepang 12 Hours

A blistering lap by Fred Makowiecki in the top-15 shootout put the #912 Manthey Racing Porsche on pole for the 2017 Motul Sepang 12 Hours, final race of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The shootout turned out to be a close-fought affair, with the top-3 cars separated by just two tenths of a second.
